• The Mid-Atlantic Sustainable Biomass Consortium (MASBio)
  The goal of this project is to deliver a sustainable and economically feasible biomass for value-added products system in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. 
  
• Advancing Forest Logging Residue Harvesting and Collection Logistics in The Eastern United States
  The goal of this project is to develop and optimize forest logging residue harvest and collection logistics in the eastern United States. 
• Developing a Regional Education Program in Sustainable Land Reclamation Management in Central Appalachia 
  To educate a new generation of workforce prepared to lead sustainable land reclamation management efforts in Central Appalachia, by developing a new certificate, while enhancing the number and diversity of undergraduate students pursuing a university degree, and increasing employment opportunities for students through industry partnerships. 
• WERC Statewide Wood Energy Team
  The team will analyze the techno-economic feasibility and the engineering of woody biomass heating systems for WV’s large users of liquid propane and heating oil (>500MBTUs per year).
• Unique nanotechnology converts carbon dioxide to valuable products
  The objective of this application is to develop and test an innovative nanotechnology that can utilize CO ₂, from coal-based power systems or other industrial sources, as the primary feedstock to produce commercially valuable products to potentially offset the cost of CO ₂ capture.
